BECOMING A MEMBER

If you are interested in becoming a member, please review the types of membership listed below.  When you have chosen the type of membership that is appropriate for you, please download the membership application and follow the instructions on the form.  If you should have any question regarding our membership options, please feel free to contact us.

 

TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP

Membership in the Partnership shall be available to the organizations defined in the following sections and individuals interested in the purposes of the Rhode Island Partnership for Home Care, Inc.  The Board of Directors will have final decision on type of membership for applicants.

CORPORATE MEMBERS

A holding company(ies) or Management Service Organization(s) (MSO) or other similar parent organization may become a corporate member as long as each subsidiary and affiliate licensed by the state of Rhode Island as a Home Care Provider, Hospice Provider, or Home Nursing Care Provider is an Organizational member of the Rhode Island Partnership for Home Care.  Corporate members shall have every opportunity to participate with voice on issues before the general membership.  Corporate members will be entitled to one vote on committees and are eligible to serve on the Board of Directors.  Corporate members shall not be entitled to vote at meetings of the members of the Partnership, but shall be entitled to receive such benefits as may be prescribed from time to time by the Board of Directors.

ORGANIZATION MEMBERS

Organization Members shall include any licensed home nursing care provider, home care provider, or hospice.

AFFILIATE MEMBERS

Affiliate Members shall include any licensed home nursing care provider, home care provider, or hospice which is under the same ownership of one of the organization members. This category does not include voting rights or membership on the Board of Directors, but Affiliate Members are entitled to all of the other benefits available to Organization Members.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

An Associate Member provides support services to Organization Members.  Associate Members include, but are not limited to trade associations, third party payors, suppliers to home care providers, organizations providing medical equipment, supplies, nutritional therapy, intravenous therapy, and laboratory services. Associate members shall have every opportunity to participate with voice on issues before the general membership.  Associate members will be entitled to one vote on committees and are eligible to serve on the Board of Directors.  Associate members shall not be entitled to vote at meetings of the members of the Partnership, but shall be entitled to receive such benefits as may be prescribed from time to time by the Board of Directors.

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP

An Individual Member is a person associated with a Partnership member and who wishes to join the Partnership as an individual, or an individual with an interest in home care who is not otherwise associated with an organization that qualifies for membership.  If an Individual member is employed by an agency that is not a member of the Partnership, they will be eligible to remain as an Individual member until their membership year ends.   

Individual members shall have every opportunity to participate with voice on issues before the general membership.  Individual members will be entitled to one vote on committees and are eligible to serve on the Board of Directors.  Individual members shall not be entitled to vote at meetings of the members of the Partnership, but shall be entitled to receive such benefits as may be prescribed from time to time by the Board of Directors

HONORARY MEMBERSHIP

The Board of Directors may designate any individual as an Honorary Member in recognition of outstanding service as it relates to the mission of the Partnership. Honorary Members do not have voting rights.

SUPPORTING MEMBERSHIP

A Supporting Member is an organization or business that wishes to support the mission of the Partnership that does not qualify to join in another membership category.  Supporting Members do not have voting rights or qualify for election to the Board.
